Yesterday was an incredibly productive day for me. The other day my husband boasted that I did the work of seven people. Not really, but sometimes it feels like that!
I canned (5 mint jelly, 4 jalapeno jelly, 2 pineapple-lime jelly, and 2 quarts of apple butter), gardened (re-located and planted 25 iris plants), helped a family member study for an job entrance test, weeded, hosted a Blog Talk Radio podcast (organized investing), folded and put away laundry, cleaned the kitchen (twice), and vacuumed the house.
I commented to a friend today, “When I’m not working, I’m busy working.”
And that can be both bad and good.
I slept well last night, I had tired myself out completely. This morning I had a short appointment, then a leisurely play date with my daughter. After lunch came a nap, and finally, my first chance to write.
I like keeping busy. I especially like the look of a room when it has been newly organized, everything in its place. Even the row of jars of jelly and apple butter bring a smile to my face. I made something and it set up properly and sealed…it will bring smiles again in the coming months as I enjoy the taste of the jellies on breads and in meals.
I like the satisfaction of a job well done.
Just thought I’d share that with everyone…
